@Nike
Awww someone is hurt by the fact someone uses evidence to argue their points instead of making stuff up. How cute

@Nike

Me: its better to argue using evidence than internet memes

You: Im offended!

@realcaseyrollins

Totally agree there and say it all the time as you know. And libtard could also be exchanged for alt-right

@Nike

@freemo Imagine thinking meta-analysis is good science and not just a way to push preconceived notions through cherry picking and statistical manipulation.

@Zettour
Imagine thinking a propaganda meme is stronger evidence than a body of collected, replicated, peer reviewed data

@freemo @Zettour Is there some particular controversial study that was brought to mind when you posted that?

@MyriadTribulations

Nope, its happened hundreds of times on the fedi and most of the time for studies that arent particularly controversial.

@Zettour

@freemo @Zettour Ok, then that's harder for me to argue against. I've known instances where headline says X, but if you actually read the study you find less definite language and a small sample size. Furthermore, even then, that study would count as one sample. Only when someone else reproduces it would it become two, and so forth.

@MyriadTribulations

Yes mainstream mesia on both sides distort facts and misrepresent studies constantly. This meme touches on that at the end.
@Zettour

@freemo Works both ways. All sides do it. The intelligent ones simply ignore and move on. It would be an invaluable waste of your most valuable resource—your time—to attempt to edify or correct the masses who do not care.
