1) instead of bread and butter replace with pitas and tahini
2) Replace all types of beans and chickpeas with fava beans
3) Use eggplant like a californian would use avocado, add it to everything
4) replace butter with oil
5) whenever you dont know what to do with a fruit or vegetable, pickle it.
6) meat
7) meat

@freemo I am all in for 1,2,3,4,5, I will pass on 6,7 :)

Good to know though!

@cvog
Luckily beans and nuts are such a huge part of their diet here you could probably be a vegan here and get a pretty healthy intake of protein and vitamins.

@freemo
Indeed, being a vegan for the last 25 years and living in Greece I'd say their diet is close to the Greek one, possibly heavier in terms of cooking and calories

@cvog
Aside from the fact that they keep the skin on the chicken its fairly light fair id say. Certainly has some passing similarity to greek food.

@freemo
Let's wait for your Israeli cuisine review :)
Must be similar

@cvog
They are next to eachother, so yea im expecting a lot of similarity. From my expiernce with israli food in the usa they lean more into the couscous and chickpeas
