@arh@mstdn.io That rule is worth discussing, but not exactly the same. If i own a house I should have every right to decide who is allowed to use it or not within certain limits. If you look suspicious as a renter I should probably be able to not rent to you. That said it is problematic and I think is worth some criticism as well. It does seem problematic and I'm not sure I know a good solution.

We obviously agree on gun ownership.

@freemo @arh bit of a difference between having guests over to a personal place versus doing business. when the entire market does something it can cause broader social and economic problems

I think the usual solution is specifying a minimum income and setting a sufficiently large security deposit. not perfect but significantly better than discriminating based on unproven allegations

Perhaps the better solution is that allegations in court shouldnt be made public unless convicted.

Honestly I'm not sure where I would stand on this issue. I'd have to think about it.
