@mkl Thanks for your feedback. I want to start by saying our **goal** is not to maximize connectivity, that just happens to be a side effect of how we operate.

As for the quality of people, ultimately you need to judge that for yourself. I think you will find we have a happy balance of moderates both from the left and the right. Generally the more extreme end of the spectrum on left or the right tend to be absent partly because the farther left you go the more "free speech" tends to be seen as a negative. In the same sense since we enforce respectful discourse and require scientific enthusiasts or professionals we tend to not see the extreme right either. When the extreme right does meander in they tend to not last long since they arent well tolerated here.

In the end all I can suggest is you get to know the people and judge for yourself. I'd say we have more people leaning to the left than to the right so you may find it happy if you do well hovering near the more moderate middle. That said as long as you are respectful your welcome here wherever you fall.

If you do find anyone is disrespectful or bigoted please let me know, we try to act on that and while it isnt usually a huge problem from time to time people will slip in.
