I was expecting a lot out of my 1911 handgun as its such a popular model, and admitidly its one of my nicest guns to shoot. But my god its also the biggest pain in the ass to field strip too. Cant even do it without a few handtools...

@freemo Are you removing the trigger group? I have never used tools to 'field strip' the M 1911.

@Pjcoyle Nope. The little piece you need to take out to take off the top slide (the same button you hit to release the slide) doesnt come out very easily and requires a tool to push it out.
