It is frightening how often people pretend to understand a thing they have explained to them just so no one thinks they're dumb.

The problem is just because something is "explained to you" doesnt mean that the person explaining it was right.
@freemo nothing to do with you or anything on fedi. Explaining problems or solutions or just how to read something to someone and rather than ask more questions they just pretend to get it. It's dangerous if they are then put in a situation where they need to use the thing they could have learned but their pride prevented

@freemo if you can't trust the technical information coming from the lead engineer there is a serious problem.
There is a big difference from doubting and not understanding, and I can tell the difference. Doubting would likely come with extra questions too. I think you'd be less likely to be embarrassed by having doubt's over not understanding.

Yea i mean i was talking more generally.. but yea, if its a person with some authority and understanding then maybe you shoudl at least give them a chance
