Queer doesnt exist, its just a made up word with no meaning or utility.

Trans isnt a sexual orientation so it doesnt belong along side other orientations.

Therefore from now on I think im going to just refer to it as "LGB" which ill use for discussions about orientation. It might make sense to do "LGBP" to include pansexuals/poly people, as that too describes orientation.

Then maybe "TICN" for gender expression (Trans, Intersex, Crossdresser, and Nonbinary).

I think ill just start dropping these in conversations and use each distinctly different. The LGBTQ+ designation never really made much sense.

Then again maybe jsut "non-cis" and "non-straight" might just be more straight forward. But less likely to engage in useful conversation.

@freemo What about asking the people affected by this? You see, I don't think it is up to you how you label people if they have chosen to use LGBTQIA+ to include all non cis-het people.

And just so that you know: it is not about gender *expression*. It *is* our gender, not how we *express* it. Expression (or presentation) has nothing to do with someone's gender.

Please stop this.

Thank you for your understanding.

Thats quite the high horse, but most importantly, how did you conclude im not effected? I have made no statements on my time online (intentional) of which groups i belong to.

You have no knowledge of either if I asked effected people or if i am one of them.

More importantly they can identify however they want and use any term they want when they speak, I certainly wont be correcting them or calling their speach wrong, I will just use the speech that I decide for myself as well. More importantly because LGBTQ+ is a different word with a different meaning. It is intended to encompass a much larger range of people than I am by breaking them out.

Thats like saying “They prefer to be called mamals, not humans”… we usually have many words to describe the same thing because they define different sets and subsets.

And just so that you know: it is not about gender expression. It is our gender, not how we express it. Expression (or presentation) has nothing to do with someone’s gender.

Yea I already conceded in a thread that the terminology needs some adjustment. Note exactly for what you express but closely related.

Please stop this.

No, you have no right to tell someone, someone you have no way of knowing if they are even personally effected or not, to stop this. YOU dont have that right.

Thank you for your understanding.

More than happy to consider your concerns, and feel free to voice them. You are welcome and thank you for providing your opinion.
