The Hogan twins are extraordinary conjoined twins. They have clear seperate consciousness yet at the same time can hear each others thoughts, see through each others eyes, and know what the other person feels physically (like where they are being touched).
It is truely amazing from the perspective of understanding identity, consciousness, and the brain more generally.
From what i can tell it isnt like normal vision. When they close their eyes they can sometimes see sometimes not. I think its half conscious.
@freemo Well that’s even weirder than I could imagine. I hope they will live good lives together.
@torparskytt its probably less weird than it sounds. There is a type of blindness where people cant see but if you ask them to guess at what is there they can almost always guess accurately. Like its not fully conscious. Id imagine it is similar to that.
@freemo I watched a video about them now, and wow that’s weird. Except identity etc and a lot of other things, I wonder what their field of view is, and can they focus their vision on two separate things at the same time or do they “tap into” the other eyes when they want to?
