The first link is literally about a small minority passing a **proposed** bill through a rather minor part of the govt process. There is no indication it has majority support or any hope to pass.

The second link is 4 years old, and since then same-sex marriage has gotten partial recognition (same-sex marriages conducted outside the country are recognized and honored), so it has literally moved towards accepting same-sex marriage in both cases not against.

I highly advise against using the news to inform you, fact check this stuff.

@freemo @NBC Ah. Well to be fair I wasn’t even thinking of gay marriage when I made that statement, there are other stereotypical left-wing nations making “right wing” or “far right” moves, especially in regards to immigration. But you asked about gay marriage specifically.

Yea gay marriage is the only thing that specifically seems to be an anti-pattern. There is no doubt some weird shifts in overall ideology ont he spectrum, but i dont think its as simple as going conservative.. There seems to be more of a boost in hate, on both sides, that has shifted ideology towards being more hateful. That has caused both sides to shift what they do in many ways as neither was really about hate in the past.

@freemo @NBC I don’t think that’s what it is personally, my suspicion is that the right and the left both gets things wrong and these countries are generally learning from that.

No offense, truly... but I feel like you need to travel more. If you did I dont think you would ever utter such a thing. The world news is not an accurate depiction of the social changes taking place.
