i hate LED street lamps because they all use cold white and ruin the atmosphere

sodium-vapor lamps are generally more efficient than most LEDs and happen to emit light at a wavelength human eyes are especially sensitive to, so they’re definitely still viable

LEDs in theory have at least twice the lifetime—unless driven at maximum power, which is what most applications do

@mia I hate warm light, oddly i find it ruins the atmosphere, it is depressing and dingy, makes me feel like im in a house that hasnt been updated since the 70s with shag carpet. I prefer all my lights as cool as they can go with a distinct blue tint representing noon daytime, more energizing.

@freemo @mia LED lights gotta be 2700K or less for me and my family, but the CRI is far more important. Any CRI less than 90 gives that drab, fluorescent feel.

@black6

Whatever you enjoy of course... I actually use phillips Hue so i can change the warmth of my lighting on a whim and produce any color i want... I usually go very cool and even add in some added blue.
