Remember all those times over the last 4 years that Harris proposed bills to protect abortion? Yea neither do I.
The problem was Biden. I am not sure how much power a vice-president has.
Quite a bit, the vice president is largely focused on internal affairs while the president is largely focused on international affairs.
This is why the vice president is in charge of the senate and has particular power when voting there. Of the two Harris is far more capable of introducing bills as the head of the senate than Biden is.
The democrats need to find better candidates. And avoid women (sadly).
@freemo Uh, I do. Maybe not Harris herself, but definitely her party.
Here's one that was passed by the House in the first year of Biden's term: https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/3755/text
And here's one from the Senate just last year: https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-congress/senate-bill/701
Want to hazard a guess about why they never went anywhere?
I said harris and not her party for a very good reason. This post is about Harris as a person and her track record of saying one thing and her actions showing another. Between her attack on trans people as the attorny general to her complete lack of action on abortion. Some other person in congress doing something really means very little to me in that context as it says nothing about Harris who as a leader had far more power to bring about an actual abortion amendment and she never even **attempted** it.
