Researchers believe that while AI was used to create misinformation and spread fake news during the elections, it didn’t change minds.

The results of the 2024 elections makes a lot of the blame casting on social media for the 2016 election results seem misguided in hindsight.

Trump’s ideas and his candidacy are popular. Misinformation whether via social media feeds or AI images & stories didn’t truck people into supporting him.

He is what people want.

⬆️ The #PermissionStructure has now been built, and it is permanent. Everyone gets to be who they really are, no matter how awful that is.

Or, another way to look at it:

I never liked #shame but now I miss it.

To be honest I kinda like that... Shame doesnt work to change behavior it just masks it. Id rather assholes be assholes and nice people be nice people and we see people at face value. At least then it gives us the ability to have an open and honest conversation about how people act rather than just burying it out of shame.
