Algos don't exist to serve you. They pretend to do so while doing the bidding of their creator.
#AI does and will do exactly the same thing, but with more skill and many more opportunities to interact with us than just social media.

Anyone can literally write an algorithm... yes they exist to serve you. Same with AI.
That said, they also can serve others, if other people write them. Just like anything that will serve its creator, anyone can choose to abuse them as well.
