I recommend it for similar topics titles you currently into so you don't go crazy, more sub-points:

- sometimes broad topics can catch the eye a a bit too much (needs training)
- sometimes specific software questions etc come up which are super useful to know difference between or where they intend going by developers answering there

So as distraction (can ignore) or as current interest interest / curiosity can have a look.

Following HN you get 10 posts every day but it's all in a row so if I'm not in the mood for HN I just skip the whole 10 in my feed seeing it clearly by it's HN icon with a few page scrolls to my next things in timeline, maybe comes back to it later.

You can also mute for a while (as all posts give option for x days/weeks

Read the post titles until you get a topic you really like when you're in the mood - but don't feel too attached just cruse until satisfied!

One thing I didn't see much of is planting or seeds but I guess it's mostly not tech - but if you see a planting / seed related post then let me know!

---------------------------------
Specific Examples / how it helps read topics:

<--- CONTROVERSIAL right? So see the typical worries and one-liners that you might have heard or not heard from people and answer them... example is:
Crypto is an unproductive bubble
qoto.org/@HN/10798313786345685

Google etc, GAMAM/GAFAM BigTech / Big Five ETC
...yeah interesting questions why people use bigtech and do see clearly but may not be willing for anything less that all-you-can-eat or not ready for reality and year 2000's DIY culture (I have had these conversations as I'm sure many of us have)
Google - If Google sucks then why is everyone still using it?

MY TIP
Quite impossible to finish one page so:
- one topic at a time or skip through and close (it will be back don't worry)
- CTRL F find key words
- Leave open for another day and close it eventually!

SUMMARY / BENEFITS

- I get a great 'fix' of logic usually from learning other people's doubts

- i remember really wise people's replies or their logic in reply (both yin and yang needed to spin intelligence! So just remember to put a cap on being offended and learn what the balance was or the gem at the end)

- Solves things as a go along / in passing so not that heavy (it comes to me rather than me going around web - I start not to use a lot of things so this helps consistency)

SUMMARY MORE DETAIL OR SPECIFICALLY this news solves things for me

- lightweight text pages (no distractions at all)
- list of point for and against conversation
- what people don't understand (misconceptions) are easy to see
- what is new to people is easy to see
- language skills (words used and alternative meanings)
- generally on point people who can focus and give reply without needing to flick shit at anyone else
- I frequently say to myself while reading "yeah that's exactly what I would say but said even better"
or "oh that's a good point and what a game changer that is!"...

SO THAT'S WHY I RECOMMEND IT *imagine a small ballet style bend of legs while pulling skirt outwards * (white leggings)

Thanks and... Do you hacking homework! :] @HN
