SOFTWARE: mp3DirectCut for direct mp3 editing...

mp3DirectCut - a lossless MP3 audio editor and recorder
TINY 313KB!
mpesch3.de

As a token gesture to tools that work very well, still works on old machines, is simple and direct, portable, had to shout this old friend.

Saves hard drive space as no decompression / hardly any loading is needed (unlike Audacity)

It directly edits MP3 as copy/pastes, cuts/crops, gain/fades, change the volume, remove parts, split files, add/copy regions and more...

Again WITHOUT decompressing the audio file or quality loss
(LOAD IN AUDACITY A LARGE 5hr MP3 and wait a good 2mins+ and saving takes ages (so no quick saves...) With this tool loading + editing + saving large audio is almost instant.

Maybe still a bit fiddly with fairly minimal interface but still worth the directness.

Yes it's for and only for show for some people (but it should run on other Linux distributions using a Windows® emulator such as if it's for grandma type editing and DIY home radio shows with fairly minimal Windows on it already.)

Has version perhaps surprisingly.

No decompression / recompression and doesn't even fill up a floppy disk ~313Kb.

Wanted to mention a robust old friend for an app on any older machine lying around or for installing for others not so savvy, even carrying around as a portable basic editor.

Audacity is good too but in this way this less load time for large mp3 and fairly minimal buttons helps.

mp3DirectCut is not a full editor but it's like got a lot of good points. Minimal website too.
