Tech's big strength and weakness is that it was built to last... maybe too long...
Looking at a piece of solid honed metal I realised that this thing, much like Technology, is perhaps build to last too long...
From all the processes which we now see as a danger... maybe this is true...
From all the companies extending out from Governments / Empires... all doing their thing and paying themselves (and us if we do as we're told)
From just finding out including seeing mass resource destruction and #climatechange
From factories like a Toxic type of mass farming / conversion...
...somewhat the whole organisation of metals and long lasting Tech could be all a bit of a counterfeit / bad exchange (IF in the end nature is what we want to perpetuate...
...though I can see us limiting tech or even stopping production and using what we have left... but the makers won't listen, they organised Tech and the bank funding in the first place for other reasons - mostly war / more money...
hard because I don't want to make it political but...
science and tech can't be separated from politics / mentalities of those generations of war-mongers overlapping into the now...
so while I don't claim anti-tech right now or any big thing- that realisation (like much which has been falsely built on or much made with money / force / fakery / crusades etc... all means this does have to be a serious thought.. and perhaps another financed branch of xyz empire)...
Starting the post I was feeling in awe how ' Technology lasts almost too long ' and then moved into how politics or environments don't let us go... from screens to surveillance to endless scroll....
That kinda mixed feeling... hmmm
We humans are also weak and need the toy to break to put the phone down / go back to before... or make it ourselves continuously in order not to make buying so easy or thoughtless (which contributes to recent comment that people don't even know free software... and why should they... people just buy and play... so that is also a weak point... ask people to make it themselves and they would really think about it and in the end not want to dig for metals or whatever...
