That's what the humanities are for.
@amerika
1/ Any specifically you can point to that cover what's in the picture?
Quick look at Humanities lead me to think they are all perhaps stuff nobody cares much from day-to-day because it's not at all relative (so yes nice but no not really relevant in many more ways than needed or not needed as such high level investment of time or money):
- study of ancient things
- modern languages
- literature
- philosophy
- history
- archaeology,
- anthropology,
- human geography,
- law <--- only one significant and it's a lot of B$ / over-bloat
- religion,
- and art !!!!
- these are exactly the under-funded categories or what nobody money-orientated or day-to-day cares about lol
Law is the only one from this list but yeah maybe list any more you think hit hard or what people even heard of (people I think as % study it less AND 0 jobs available for above like starving artists just spits of contract work and that's it ! Not really the appreciation I was looking for using the main STEM branches or STEAM picture)
- Who even does these things any more?
- How often do you even see if mentioned even covered as important. Not saying they are not but hard to see if there isn't job, much interest, space, and it's all far away stuff from day to day, then how are you going to do it regardless of make living from it.
My direction was that STEM should be looking at human things and not objectifying people / cutting them out a lot less... I dunno mentioning that X is not only X but ABCDEFG attributes also... and pretending it doesn't matter somewhat to treat planet and people in only X fashion with not after effect or consequences or X = X + unhappy Y and unhappy Z
Feels for me like all of these main subjects should / could have MORE human categories of each one and that's what I would like to prevail much more now we have covered a lot of other main things almost to the maximum / broke the back of sciences and it will still continue anyway.
For example Social Science 'is a thing' and what I'd like more average people investing in' (which could be measured by money put in or just the time humans work on these things)... but that whole money thing is perhaps separate... JUST for example STEM people actually caring and doing more of the people interaction and spread would be GOOD / better than without!!
No point having more Einstein's or bodies if they don't care or systematically deal with numbers mostly / only.
@amerika
Compartmentalised is also a good word I learned from audio talk recently.
Almost to say "not here but there is another department for that all the way down the hall, left twice, down again further and then maybe you might see small sign of life there"
Compartmentalised and specialise (which some people can do in upto 3/4 things but many people can't... or just get lost which is why I prefer system to cross train a bit more or at least the STEM individuals who don't already and think 1 compartment / department is enough for whole life.
There is a reason for separation: some will specialize.
No decent college or high school grants a degree with zero exposure to humanities.
@freeschool
Dunno. That's your classic humanities program.
