We are losing culture when we use money, when we value things in such ways the culture becomes about money.
Much like tourism loses culture or over-focuses to exploit the culture, this process tries to feed money instead of living as culture as the priority.
People and nations lose culture from isn't considered valuable by the money culture.

If the culture is not reading, not in constant but not military-like education study of life, if it's not praying for goodwill to others, learning what respect is etc etc - then it's likely your culture will lean towards unhealthy things and eventually war...
