@DuhLaurien@mk.spook.social Joining the Fediverse, or moving away from proprietary software and corporate controlled technology in general, is really not that difficult. It's legitimately easier than it ever has been. It just requires a bare minimum of time + effort which people are unfortunately too lazy to volunteer to themselves. They'd rather be data-slaves and profit bad companies, enabling bad behavior which abuses them, than spend an hour or two of their week to start moving away to something more free and healthy. @freeschool@qoto.org

⌚ Time is not a problem for anyone, BUT the associated mindset and feeling is needed.
A kind of 'chain of thought' is also needed do things in one go and not fall at any step... (multiple steps needs time and *motivation*/courage/0 distraction etc)
So mostly it's about being brave and even suicidal in doing things 🐮 bulldozing headfirst - especially if feeling let down in life already because when something else is not working it can add another knife in your soul and esteem when if you are already demotivated and self-esteem is low.
If you feel let down by life (we all do) then it really is sometimes "why bother" <--- and they're quite right much of the time(!) as people are not intelligent enough or system dumbed them down or made it too easy or put hidden settings and tracking they don't see (so it's less needed in life to DIY and enemies/problems are not directly visible ---> we can't see tracking or even show it well enough as danger)
People often don't want to feel lower or fail at another thing so giving power (and responsibility) to someone else they can feel better in the using and maybe blame them if ever news comes out and some (like developers on Fediverse) simply *exchange* their data for less learning. <--- I have pulled people up AND THEY ARE OK WITH IT (like using lots of data, bloating things, not a problem for Techie's and Devs sometimes, I think they actually enjoy it and don't like my optimisation type comments for mass pigging out on data / speed). Bourgeois let's say and sometimes doing quite well in other things too.
Anyway(!)... as FreeSchool (and my life doing same) I have gone "The Extra Mile" to achieve others the next step up and at least get them started... even for experts as they also have the same MIND TING.
Lots of examples like this can help everyone to help everyone and even *bring things to* people.
For me it's like a sport because I totally understand the opposition is almost too good ... so I don't mind if I see they have a bit of a chance I just do things for others... I think this is what all friends can do 
EVEN WITH people who carry a massacred body (exhausted) and defeated mentally hammered (at work, school, everywhere)... we are the superhero people!

There are many things on my own list I try to hammer but still haven't because:
- "I'm waiting for this..." or
- "why change operating system when I have such a sweet old Windows setup"
- "my system is not setup right" or "I have to do XYZ before ABC"
That "chain of tasks" is hard in 1 go sometimes... but anyway... let me know what you think of all this aimed to show *mentality and keywords* for other people (it's easy from our view but we did this all over 10years usually!! Sometimes longer). It's like asking your granny to start using a computer lol...
Length of this text can show there's more than meets the eye 👀 so friends can help... if people offer and if people can ask too!
