Over-simplification in design and expectation sets people up for problems later...
An allowance of the X factor always helps to be less surprised when things in reality change a bit in the moment from your more virtualised plans back in the past.
It's fine as a general overview to simplify (and usually works) but to expect more than what you see now as "simple" now is wise / more realistic. "Shit happens" and "shit isn't always simple" on this good day I hope for you :)
