Any ideas how to encourage newcomers to help improve #mastodon or anything related to it?
If nobody tells them that they can have positive impact on the #fediverse , and more specifically, *how* they can have positive impact, then all the energy and excitement that they brought with them will go to waste.

I already ranted about this few times before.

= Make it people orientated / personally interactive

To really catch everything... and even avoid making as ...then get to know people and watch things flood in.

Why many movements / account don't do is a wonder if they are really passionate.

It's PEOPLE and not even the or that are THE problem - people are also the place of .

(I sent you another longer comment about just now which you can follow that hashtag to see in more detail about that constant good work often overlooked but related to your ).

Expecting people to join github to contribute is for example just as stupid / narrow minded as it's not for everyone and avoids even or uneducated to see / do better at lower levels of joining / operating fields. Using everyone is best.
