The corporate hacks at #OSI have defined the LLMs that C.A.G.E.M.A.F.I.A. use as "open-source" without them having to provide the data (incl. art, journalism, books and whatever other content was used to train the system).

This is bad. It's bad for not only everyone in software freedom but EVERYONE who produces content.... and by that I mean EVERYONE.

The #microsoft cronies perpetuating #theft and #fraud at OSI need to repeal their demented #OSAID definition immediately, if they want to maintain any shred of respect for #opensource.

PLEASE BOOST, even if to preserve the definition of the word, #open. Thanks

was just chewing the fat with someone and we realized it would be good to have an "Accepted-license" header in #HTTP.

It would mean that u could ask for a response IF AND ONLY IF the response is of a particular license.

Accepted-licence: AGPLv3, GPLv3, BSD, CC0, CC-BY-SA-4.0

and then the server will respond with:
License: <<ONE OF THE ABOVE>>

....it wouldn't solve the privacy/anonymity issues of networked services but at least would force vendors claiming #FOSS to put it in writing (it should already be in writing but this would just make it persistent and mean that a person would need to periodically check what is published on a site).

dunno tho, this might already be a thing and just noone does it, lol

@frogzone do you aim to make your prose as impossible to read as possible

@icedquinn fighting the LLMs, one fat chew at at time....

ur smart i think u understand

Many SMART people evidently have terrible writing of their own... short sentences are also a STAPLE AND HALLMARK of many coders who do little 'interacting' with 'humans' - preferring computers and code... ironically even hardcore coding for 'social change'...

@frogzone
I'm having trouble believing smart people can READ

...or something other that they are smart in coding etc but also still terrible in other things like being average pub people (although this has gone up too I think)

1/ Because many SMART evidently have terrible writing of their own (like who is critiquing you here). You do a great job to avoid conflict but your longer writing was more clearer sometimes.

2/ Evidently or proportionately it seems more the 'genius' and 'specialised' people are, then the more perhaps risk or likelihood they are of being UNable or DISabled to do the longer reading or other social skills...

Like only doing short sentences is a STAPLE for many coders, evidence of that...

Ironically people hardcore coding for 'social change' sometimes... and no getting the paradox of short writing only.

3/ I honestly read your longer writing better than few sentences from IcedQuinn... so while ad hominem isn't my aim here (and you avoided it well) let me take the hit here in saying it's measurable and 'clever' people are often problematic in their social or reading deficiencies... and here's an example of it also in usage of AI as a way to make sense or shorten in summary (not sure if it was a joke) because

4/ This is EXACTLY why will take off and be a success with people like Iced because a) they even feel it's ok to run your text and info through AI b) take time to use to try 'shorten' things that are already quite short rather than re-read it themself which might even take less time - lol TLDR = if they use AI to do this kind of work - we're all f-ed and becomes self-edivident of intelligence.

Using can often measurably show the person's intellect by usage at all or why they used it (was it even needed?).

So overall I wouldn't say relying on "smart" covers the bases or caring factors! We have a lot of bad-clever examples and others even applaud them since onlookers think they get what seems short and simple.

(disclaimer I'm not saying Iced is all of that but trying to read his stuff as comparison was like "oh..." showing short doesn't mean it's easy to read either or worthwhile being short-depth).

So I'll read a bit more on your stuff and be on my way...
