💬 How can the study of human origins clarify our view of a future communist society?

#Darmangeat tells us that #capitalism is the first human society which makes it possible to imagine an end to the sexual division of labour, and equality for women – an #equality which is today set in law in a few countries, but which is nowhere an equality in fact: “while capitalism has neither #improved nor #worsened women’s lot as such, it is by contrast the first #system which has made it possible to pose the question of their equality with men; and although it has proved unable to make this equality a reality, it has nonetheless brought together the elements which will bring it into being”.[25]

Despite itself, capitalism has given working-class #women, for the first time in the #history of class #society, a real material #independence from men, and hence the possibility of taking part on an #equal footing with men in the struggle for the liberation of the #proletariat, and so of #humanity as a whole.
