Pinning this so hopefully more people see it:
We don't love RSS enough
It's mostly a call-to-action that if you can style your feed, you definitely should so that those unfamiliar with it can be assimilated.

@gabriel I recently discovered OPDS which does for books/magazines what RSS does for podcasts. It also seems to be slowly dying unfortunately but there are still some big feeds e.g. Project Gutenberg and the Internet Archive which you can browse in an eBook reader app like Librera

RSS / IPFS / FTP / OPDS etc

@fosstian @gabriel Seems like a good idea
- honestly first I heard of OPDS...

➡️ Other software that can use it as server is:

(haven't used often but when I did it was decent and more able than anything else for it's time)

➡️ On the topic of things dying / fizzling out..

Things die perhaps because it needs someone to constantly to (re)introduce it to the next person like a torrent seed, otherwise it doesn't get enough usage and interest to carry... and users anyway would naturally be minimal users perhaps of things like ...

➡️ Side-topic but related...

But I think the way forward is using multi-faceted people who can interface (chat) like Gabe that can work according to others a bit and rope in everything with new friends - even if friends like me harp on about the same things a bit too much - we accept that as part of all humans - else we die alone / with good practical software unused because there wasn't any / helping set it up (which is what seems totally opting for, and I've asked them A LOT for evn just chat and doesn't happen).

➡️ See about making like for the way to seed everything and learn more nuanced things and actually people themselves / accepting others as we go along / get the best from everyone...

If you have other similar suggests shoot me -

➡️ is another good one

with / style interface for example - have you tested that?

➡️ Try this:
cahlen.org/files/videos

Super simple to navigate like it was #2000 decade again.

My kind of stuff all this though not using much bandwidth nowadays to try anything big other than audio so I haven't set it up - can anyone out there rate how easy it is / basics?
