I think it can be said that single use is a) the demon child of the fossil fuel industry and b) a blight uppon the planet.
I've said elsethread that one of my fantasies is to build an an independent underwriting agency a la Underwriters Laboratory that documents the entire service life of products and their constituent materials, & displays that "matter stream" on a required label on all products & packaging to build that awareness into the supply chain.
I wrote a kid book about the life cycle of plastic toys. I am working on getting it illustrated. Slow going though.
