I think we could be doing a lot for the future of the fediverse right now by encouraging people to use tools for cross-posting:
scores of academics made accounts here in 2023 but moved on to Bluesky; showing them how easy it is to maintain some presence here could be really impactful
bridging isn’t the only option, and for some people, cross posting might be more appropriate

TLDR example: We have empty social / just the software.
NOBODY IS REALLY PUMPING SOCIAL FOR SOCIAL. It's just software and people staying unsocial...
