Founders of public education left us dueling purposes between protecting both “individual liberty” and “collective success.” I’m convinced that learning to learn (to reach self actualization through service, engagement, etc. in community) is the answer. Focusing on individual economic success alone, decontextualized from individual vocation in society, is a big part of the problem. @humrespro?
