@girls_can Thanks for this! There is way too little public self-doubt in academia! My post-burnout take on the problem discussed in this thread: As a prof I render a service and I try to be the best craftsman I can be. The first requires a choice of whom to serve and what this particular group needs. The latter implies to take your time (it is finished when its finished) and to use the best tools available. And both - service and craft - become better if done together with good colleagues.
