Oh look. #ontario released their #sunshinelist 🙄. Invented by #Conservative premier Harris in 1996 to #nameAndShame public servants earning top salaries ($100k before taxes), it hasn’t been adjusted for #inflation once in nearly 30 years. The median after tax income in Canada reached $66,800 in 2020! $100 K before tax is not outrageous, but Conservatives whip up populist outrage pointing out how many #nurses and #teachers are on it every year 😡
A $100k salary in 2023 is equivalent to making $57k in 1996.
