The first mug I made for myself because I love this paper so much and Inorganic Chemistry. I think it's a good work but it only has 9 citations. 😢

On fine days I get very accurate. On other days I get horrible at shooting darts. This imprecision and inconsistent performance is more like securing research grants. Don’t always get it.

It is true that in condensed matter physics (CMP) the application(s) is far away in the future. And it should be generalised to other sciences too. In fact, Anderson localisation discovered in 1958 and won Nobel Prize for Physics 1977 still has not found its practical application. But Nobel Prize is not awarded for practical applications; it’s for groundbreaking discoveries.

Did you farming is a source of strains of bacteria that have developed #antibiotic resistance?

A new report from the United Nations Environment Programme shines a spotlight on this important issue and makes suggestions on how we could address it. You can find out more at lnkd.in/g9Ec4sy5

Doping: from viscous mixture of opium and cocaine to horse racing and doping semiconductors. It originates from the Dutch “doop”.

It happens so frequent and ubiquitous in science.
Bureaucracy, red tape, micromanagement really kills science.

Another thing that makes me happy. My first publication this year got materialised on a mug. Can’t wait to drink tea using this mug. Cheers everyone!

Crab soup and grilled clamp to conclude my weekend getaway. It was wonderful. Happy new year to me.

I counted them. Feynman’s total publications were about 48 or 49 papers throughout his career. Well, it is still below for most of us yet they are very impactful, launched new areas like nanotechnology and quantum computing. I need to slow down and focus on meaningful work and publications rather than rushing to generate and compile publications.

Two MIT alumni won Nobel Prizes in Chemistry and Physics in 1965. Feynman and Woodward.

These attributes are necessary to gain success. The PS3:
1. Passion
2. Spirit
3. Stamina
4. Seriousness

Bought this years ago, after many years I graduated from Melbourne University. Still working. Now I use it to sign forms.

Gonna buy new books for new year reading. Although some books I still have not opened yet. They are collecting dusts on the shelves 😔

Twitter is currently down. So I am here. There will be a glitch frequently I guess.
