@lowqualityfacts did you know that in the United Kingdom all motorhome number plates start with the letters RV? Took a photo as proof. If you look closely you can see the owner looking at me wondering why I’m photographing him.

The FW standard goes back to 1950 when an imported Willys-Overland Jeepster was registered Bedfordshire, England.

The local DVLA officer didn’t know what type of car it was and the FW standard was created for the new type of vehicle. FW stands for Funky Wagon! This terminology was created by Nigel Miller who upon seeing the vehicle commented “it’s a funky wagon init brov” and it thus ever since then every SUV in Britain has a number plate that starts with FW.
