@stavvers these aren’t traditional sails, kites have several advantages over a sail. Firstly they scale better, there’s no need for a massively strong mast, secondly they are more efficient with small power kites producing huge pulls, thirdly you have the option to fly it very high up where the winds could be much stronger. This is wind power technology but a step up much like going from a square rig to a Bermuda rig, it’s more efficient.
