@gamingonlinux really 6.36% desktop share for Linux overall when you factor in ChromeOS :) And I really know people like to say it's not Linux, and whilst I will concede that it is not typical it is based on the Linux kernel, which is the core component of any Linux-based operating system and thus IMHO Linux.

@gamingonlinux I know :) I just wanted it to go on record here too :D

FWIW, I'm using three machines right now. One MacOS, one ChromeOS, and one Pop!_OS... Anout to turn on a Steam Deck to download something too ;)

@testman @gamingonlinux My main reservation with ChromeOS is that it is a Google product and we know they have a history of abandoning things seemingly out of nowhere.

@gpowerf @gamingonlinux Totally!

And then there's "other" too, which is probably more likely to be Linux than a mainstream OS.

And then when you consider that this is all desktop usage that's *including* work machines (which are likely to be mainly Windows) — there's probably a lot higher usage of desktop Linux used at home than any stat counter can accurately depict.

@gpowerf @gamingonlinux it's actually Gentoo based at its core. Well...coreos which is Gentoo based.
