Seems like Google is trying to capture the young generation by providing them with their products and services at home and school. This is similar to how many people grew up with DOS and Windows and became loyal to Microsoft for a lifetime. Google is hoping that their users will stick with them for the long term.
However, I also wonder if Google can support ChromeOS for that long without losing interest or abandoning it. Google has a history of killing off many of their products, such as Google Reader, Google Plus, Google Hangouts, Stadia, and more. Will they do the same Chromebooks and ChromeOS eventually? Only time will tell.

I'm a big ChromeOS fan, and I've bought into the Google ecosystem. It is interesting... Most of the schools I went to growing up had all Apple computers. But that never translated to the business environment. I learned Windows on my own at home, and then in college. Google is basically doing what Apple did in the 90s, and I don't think it's going to work unless they start to open up the environment beyond the Chromium developer docs.
@berkough I see :) Where I grew up we experienced BBC Micros and Acorn Archimedes, both nice machines but they were not common outside school :)
