They are mostly not wrong but we have built a society where this attitude is seen as being "unproductive" and a problem to fix.

@DazzlingDamo Nobody dies regretting that they didn't stay in the office later, that their house wasn't large enough, or that they didn't upgrade their car every 2 years without fail. However, plenty of people do die regretting that they didn't see their kids grow up, or that they didn't tell their spouse they loved them when they needed, etc... This is a sensible swap for younger people.
