No matter the country, it's a given that politicians don't understand technology. This has to be one of the dumbest things I've ever read. RISC-V has the potential to change the computing landscape and benefit humanity overall. Part of the point of going open source is to bypass these sort of political shenanigans, and it shows that politicians pushing for this fundamentally misunderstand . Any collaboration ban between one country and others is bound to hurt that one country more than others, the knowledge is out there, and no petty politician can stop humanity from progressing together. msn.com/en-gb/money/technology

No I think they understand it just fine... big donors like AMD and Intel don't like the idea of competition, so they're buying govt action and they needed a way to spin it.
