I was never a big drinker, but over the summer break I decided to not have one beer when it was offered, and not having one beer became not having another, and then not drinking red wine, and just not touching .

And now I've not had any alcohol in quite a while. I don't think I'm going to be touching it again! It wasn't a conscious thing, it just happened.

@gpowerf I used to drink a fair bit in my early twenties but there's a history of alcoholism in my family and I very nearly went down that slippery slope and I made a conscious decision to not really drink anymore. I can't even remember the last time I had a drink.

@retrosponge Well done :)

For me it was strange, recently I thought "I guess I don't drink now. I'm teatotal."

@gpowerf I think as you get older you either start drinking more or less. I mean I used to enjoy it in my early 20's but the rare times I drink now I don't really enjoy it.

The last time I actually got drunk was New Years Eve 1999.
