Oh my goodness I've just learned a thing about The Matrix that causes it to make a lot more sense: In the original script the humans were used as neural network compute clusters by the Machines and as a crucial component of The Matrix itself.

Which is why humans who were aware of the simulation could control aspects of The Matrix - their minds were part of its foundation.

Unfortunately the test audiences had trouble understanding this concept so the studio changed the human role to "batteries".

Hey #retrobubble. I'm want to connect my #c64 to the world. So far I've got an #ultimate1541ii+, however I didn't do more than connecting to it via telnet. I'm thinking of getting a #wic64 - is there any better way?

Journalist request:

Do you use any kind of generative AI tool regularly, either to communicate with others, or to make plans, in your work or personal life? If so, I would like to talk to you.

Note: openAI’s various tools, or Bard, or Bing chat, or whatever other tool, even if it’s integrated into something else, all qualify.

Thanks in advance!

Got an email for someone requesting a license for Acorn 4, because that’s the last release that would work on Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.

I absolutely just sent them one, and I'm extremely jealous because they get to use a great OS and they aren't even going to keep it connected to the internet. ÜberZen.

@HopelessDemigod Out of those Ubuntu, but Debian, Mint, and Ubuntu I'm OK with :D Anything Debian based.

They are mostly not wrong but we have built a society where this attitude is seen as being "unproductive" and a problem to fix.

@DazzlingDamo Nobody dies regretting that they didn't stay in the office later, that their house wasn't large enough, or that they didn't upgrade their car every 2 years without fail. However, plenty of people do die regretting that they didn't see their kids grow up, or that they didn't tell their spouse they loved them when they needed, etc... This is a sensible swap for younger people.

@vooksdotnet oh wow! I love the transparent look :) I miss when this was commonplace.

Whenever I read about or hear about a conspiracy theory and the supposed enemy is "they" I can't help but roll my eyes.

@peter @Nodlek A use case is a boat with an Iridium GO connection. It's slow and the HTML version of Gmail works better.

Ooh I’ve got my hands on some new Stickers from my friends at @Raspberry_Pi! I love the Raspberry Pi ‘Til I die one!!
