Richard Stallman reveals he has cancer in the GNU 40 Hacker Meeting talk audio-video.gnu.org/video/gnu4 It's disheartening to hear the news. I sincerely hope for his speedy recovery and wish him all the best. He is a crucial figure in the current era of SaaS and cloud computing, especially with the abundance of unreliable AI generators controlled by big tech. It's a tough situation.

After yesterday’s British-made Suzuki Swace, today we are going back to a far earlier connection between the British and Japanese motor industries with this 1935 Datsun Type 14. The design was said to have been inspired by the British Austin Seven, and this example was brought to the UK by a curious Herbert Austin. Later British car bosses were rather less attentive to the competitive challenge from Japan - to their cost. Pic #NationalMotorMuseum #Datsun #Nissan #WeirdCarMastodon #davidsdailycar

@SinclairSpeccy@bitbang.social both. I like borh OSs, however, Android hardware is generally more varied, with both more advanced and more budget options available, and Android is less locked down. So if I had to choose just one it would be Android.

@gamingonlinux WOW! I hadn't seen that game before, super impressive :)

@vidaextraretro Este juego me dejó boquiabierto cuando lo vi por primera vez. El movimiento era tan fluido que realmente parecía que el protagonista se movía como un humano, se sentía años por delante de cualquier otra cosa.

Also, this piece of trivia ... 😆

"In Stargate SG-1 and its spin-offs, Cheyenne Mountain houses "Stargate Command", a top-secret unit of the United States Air Force that uses the titular Stargate to explore other planets. In recognition of the series' close relationship with the real-life Air Force, there is now a broom closet in the real Cheyenne Mountain Complex called "Stargate Command"."

Always fun to search for a domain name and the registrar is like "yeah someone thought of that joke in 2014."

is like the modern-day Apple features that the competition has had for a long time, released to the fanfare of a thousand trumpets and the clinking of champagne glasses.

@gamingonlinux what I really hope is that they are able to make enough of them to meet demand. But I am not super hopeful.
