This is the Force Citiline, an Indian people carrier / SUV thing with lots of space and a 90hp 2.6L diesel... You can all have your 500hp minuscule hatchbacks, this is what practicality is about over 5.1 metres of BOX! #WeirdCarMastodon
@gpowerf Your numbers 1 and 2 are before my time... 😁
1) Amstrad CPC 464
2) NES/Famicom (technically the same generation as the Amstrad though, I guess. 🤔
3) SNES
4) PSOne (I bought one of these because it was better looking than the original PS and had a nice solid feel to it. Aesthetically, this is probably one of my favourite consoles, closely followed by the SNES)
5) PS2 (it just had such a huge game library and R-Type Final...)
6) Wii (seemed so great at the time. I recently picked up a Wii U to more easily play my old Wii games and found that my memories of the games outshine the reality of playing them in 2023 😞 )
7) Switch all the way! I play games for escapism, so COD and all that kind of guff doesn't "float my boat". Give me bright cartoon-like worlds to explore and I'm there!
I've even gone off stuff like Gran Turismo now. My XBox One S came with Forza and I've tried to get into it a few times, but I just can't.
O'Reilly Radar gave the Fediverse a shout-out!
They note that the Fediverse is on pace to match Twitter's scale.
But they also question whether the industry pundits will ever take the Fediverse seriously since it lacks billionaire or VC funding.
Fine by me.
Let the pundits write their long thinkpieces on NFTs and AI and all the other bullshit that powers tech hype cycles.
As for me, I'm here for actual and tangible technological change.
Elon Musk: what if I just straight up shoot a puppy in the face, would you still use Twitter then?
Journalists: This is fine.
If I could choose one console from every generation I would choose the following:
1) Magnavox Odyssey
2) Atari 2600
3) NES/Famicom
4) Mega Drive
5) PSX
6) Dreamcast
7) Wii
8) Switch
9) Still undecided... leaning towards PS5.
What would your first choice be for each generation?
I'm not Elon's biggest fan, far from it! He drove me out of Twitter into Mastodon. However, people are pretending that his statement that the #BBC is government funded is somehow hugely shocking. Given his history of lying, I don't find this one statement hugely shocking, or that big a lie!
The reality is that the statement that the BBC is government funded is at least partially true, but not 100% accurate. The BBC receives most of its funding from the licence fee, which can be argued it operates as a tax because it is so hard to avoid paying even if you watch no BBC content. This tax or fee is a form of public money that is collected by the government and allocated to the BBC by Parliament (so yeah, taxpayer-funded and allocated to the BBC by the government!). However, the BBC also has other sources of income, such as its commercial operations and its funding from donors, which are not public money and do not affect its editorial independence.
Therefore, the BBC’s funding is more complex and diverse than Elon said, and cannot be reduced to a simple label of being government funded or not. Partially government-funded would have been more accurate.

Now let's do the same with 4x4s.
Here are some of the cars I just created. #WeirdCarMastodon #mastodoncars
Not every attempt is successful, this is the attempted fusion between a Silverado and a D-Max.
Car design by #AI. Asking an AI model to create style fusions of different cars in order to create new ideas and starting points for a new design.

Having looked through the Federated feed, yeah, I’d agree that much of Mastodon’s recent growth is due to bots.
But this isn’t a bad thing. 95% of the bots I see are actually helpful.
For example, sportsbots.xyz is excellent for updates.
It’s pretty obvious to me that this bot-driven growth is due to Elon Musk killing off the free tier for API access.
This is my fun social media account, I will post a lot of video game stuff (mostly old or cloud gaming) and some work stuff.
If I post an image with no Alt text it is because the image is just there for decoration and doesn't provide any extra meaning to the toot.
