So Bluesky launched a public beta with no way to block abusers and aggressive weirdos, then explained it was because they didn’t see that sort of moderation as important enough to be included in the basic design.

I find it very difficult to understand how, after the past, oh, 20 years or so, how anyone could even think of designing a social media protocol without making strong moderation a major part of the system from the get.

Chasing wins🏅

I gave up chasing the PBs of my youth a long time ago — the 48 year old me is unlikely to ever beat PBs of the 20 something year old me. But there are other goals to aim for.

Speed work over the last few months is paying off in my cardio fitness (VO₂ max levels). From 44.4 in January to 48.3 in April; taking me from ‘Above Average’ to a ‘High’ level of cardio fitness for my age. BOOM💥IN YOUR FACE MIDDLE AGE!

With 122km under my belt for the month, I bid April adieu!
