In what ways will undoubtedly have changed the world 10 years from now? “Undoubtedly” meaning “guaranteed in ways that regulators can’t deny & the media can’t destroy”. Don’t say finance / defi.

@hakologist

The first step would be finding a really useful use case for it that is not way better served by other kinds of tech, and is not for speculators, launderers, get-rich-fast schemers, and other kinds of scum. Good luck finding one.

@jgg Laundering & the other concepts you mentioned have little to no relevance to the technology mentioned, along with its ability to monitor & experiment on human behavior in a lab rat fashion.

@hakologist

As far as I can see (I'm a tech guy, but not a crypto guy), those concepts seem to be the most frequent use cases for blockchain.
There are others, but they seem to be a case of 'have a hammer, need to use it, no idea on what'. As databases, blockchains are wildly slow and wasteful. Decentralization without it may be not so good, but any other method is going to be wildly cheaper and faster.
And not being able to delete data is a serious flaw most of the times, not a feature. And a potential legal nightmare, too.

About "monitor and experiment...", I'm afraid I don't understand that part.
