I will just say this once, if you consider yourself a #feminist but you are expecting your man to buy you candy, flowers, or a gift, or to take you out to dinner today (even thought this is one of the busiest days for underpaid restaurant workers), you're no feminist. Unless possibly you reciprocate and do the same for him, but truthfully a lot of men wish they could just skip the day entirely. To say that some hate #ValentinesDay with the heat of a thousand burning suns might not be that inaccurate.

All this goes 100X if you are expecting jewelry or some other big ticket item.

A lot of relationships end because of #Valentines Day and in most cases that's probably not a bad thing. Guys, if your girlfriend breaks up with you because you didn't perform to the expectations set by the advertisers and merchants, consider yourself lucky - you dodged a bullet!
