**Notes of my youth** This is where I started my career. There was a big push for more nuclear plants. Then the socialists were elected, and all the plans had to be destroyed, like some commie country. There is only one place to build a new nuclear plant in Ontario, but that's politically out...

@hasmis what's the place?

I did some depth and environmental surveying in the 90s on northern Lake Huron that was related to nuclear plant siting. I'm not sure how of the overall results, but the area is all new Provincial Parks now.

@johnefrancis Was that with me? Anyway I came to the conclusion that the North Channel was horrible, and the only site was Wesleyville, and Darlington 2, but that site is being taken up by a baby reactor.

@hasmis I'm not sure...it was a loooong time ago. It was the North Channel. I was driving the boat around with the depth logger and total station reflectors on it, one surveyor setup on shore, another on the boat. I was much impressed with the custom, battery powered equipment and computers...anything portable being quite rare in the early 90s.

Also did a number of boat tours out to examine various islands.

@hasmis nope! Different boat, I don't think we snagged anything. That looks like it might be out of Bruce Mines or Thessalon, I went out of Blind River
