Originally, a blue check mark on Twitter meant verified: a person was who they claimed to be.

It quickly came to mean prominent – according to the obscure criteria of Jack Dorsey’s Twitter.

Elon Musk introduced paid Twitter, which made the blue check meaningless: pure nihilism.

@ChrisO_wiki these people are absolute lunatics. pushing for using nukes and expecting that this will force the West to stop supporting Ukraine is just that - lunacy. not to mention that Ukraine will not stop resisting even if they do use nukes.

1/ Russian politicians are hoping that Vladimir Putin will announce his plans for the end of the war in Ukraine. They want him to achieve a quick victory this year, with no further mobilisation and no closing of Russia's borders to block those attempting to flee the country – both of which would be highly unpopular steps. ⬇️

Loooool! Is this more sad or more pathetic? Musk was not happy with the number of views of his tweets so he is resorting to this shameless self promotion:

@drewmccormack @davemark I know that ChaptGPT can be completely wrong, sometimes comically so. I was referring to the fact that it is able to maintain a conversation while Siri can't. and really needs to be able to.

Almost every Washington Post political news story I read these days feels like it was written by someone absolutely terrified of the right wing and not remotely confident that their editors would back them up. presswatchers.org/2023/02/the-

Many people have a rock-solid belief they're good people. They care about others, they think. Yet, right now, not one among us is unaware #COVID19 still rises and falls. We also know that immunocompromised friends, peers, and family are at greater risk and sheltering at home. Despite that, most “kind” people won't #WearAMask. They abandon their values because strangers may look at them funny. If that's all it takes to discard their principles, then they aren't as kind or good as they believe.

@deonandan yes, today was not pretty

@davemark good article. it certainly looks like Apple is missing the boat on this. ChatGPT is **miles** better than Siri at conversations so it's clear that Siri could benefit from generative AI.

On generative AI:
