@moritz and some still maintain the same business model: Alfred, DEVONthink, ia writer, Omni apps (although they’re switching to sub, at least as an alternative), the Affinity suite, keyboard maestro… But a lot of good software comes also from subscription-based models. The problem in iOS with the App Store is that a new app version gets charged 30% by Apple, a subscription renewal just 15%. that’s a lot of money that ends up in the developer pockets instead of Apple.
