#BikeTooter mixes with #3dprinting. We'll see how these derailleur pulleys work on my computer bike with old Shimano 8-speed RSX. Going from bushings to bearings should be a nice change too. If these hold up, it'll be nice to do this for our MTBs that routinely eat pulleys up. @3dprinting
@idropyou @3dprinting What material are they?
@szakib PLA.
@idropyou I wonder how long they will last.
@szakib Me too. Only one way to find out!
How about making these open source?
@idropyou Whoa! What filament did you use - ABS, Nylon?
@Miq This first attempt is just PLA.
@idropyou "whoa!" squared... I never would have thought PLA could stand the forces. My bet would have been the gears would break within minutes. Impressive.
@Miq I'll print another set to keep as spares should they give up on a ride. We'll see how they do. Always fun to try stuff out and see what happens.
Well, they're in place and initial impressions are favorable. They're quiet and with bearings spin nicely. Did some brutal shifting on a quick shakedown and all the teeth are still there. #BikeTooter #3dprinting
