The stage at my kid's band concert looks like a hungry monster.

Been a while, but recently got a chance to fly some rockets with the club. Put up 11 flights. Silo flew again, on a D12-5 and it was perfect.

And, did the Astrocam two staged this time, C6-0 to C6-7.

Why pick through all the boring oat pieces in your magically delicious cereal when you can just get right to the good part?

Current status of the back yard here in southeastern Wisconsin.

Yay!

That didn't feel too good, but I'm ok. Only took out a dead tree by the roots at >20mph...

It's nearly "fill the freezer with venison season." Making sure all is well with the ol' Browning BAR.

Have peaches in the freezer, from our trees, that need to be used (and we didn't get any this year, yes, insert sad face here).

So, I made a cobbler while listening to quarterly planning readouts for several areas of our org.

Took the boat out of the lake and put it in hibernation. Will see it again in April.

I am glad the shrinkwrapping skills I gained bagging sand in the sand mine as a teenager are still there. What places charge for this is just stupid.

Took the day off from work and spent some of it making raspberry freezer jam....then went and picked more. Getting a pint and a half every other day now from our small patch.

Yesterday. The kiddo. Did some fun rides even after he raced hard the day before in >90F temps.

Banff. Healy to Simpson pass loop/lollipop hike. Probably one of the most gorgeous hikes ever. At the pass, it was water and wildflowers, with a bonus view over to the amazing Pharoah Peaks. 12.9 miles with 3058' of gradual gain. Not a difficult hike at all. Going there? Do this hike.

More pics in thread.

Banff black bear. Just up the hill from the campsite. We saw six black bears in various spots during our two weeks of hiking. Sadly, no grizzlies.

Athabasca Glacier. Jasper National Park.

Walking on this glacier was a life-changing experience. Beauty in every aspect you view, but fear and sadness seeing where it used to be. 100 more years and it will cease to be. Seeing some things in person hit a lot harder than reading or seeing photos.

Our guide Mel from Icewalks was awesome! I just wish we had done the full day vs the half. 😃

Moraine Lake, Banff. July 22nd. We braved the excess of humanity there so we could check it off the list. It's gorgeous, very gorgeous, and that's why it's so popular. Thankfully you can no longer drive to it and need to schedule/reserve shuttle tickets (which can be challenging).
