Pair of Ring-necked ducks on the lake today. Very shy, hard to get anything good with even a 600mm lens.

I can see the finish line now. Another week to go. Silver maples may get buddy today or tomorrow, sugars will be ok. Up over 41 gallons bottled. Topping my previous best season by 12 gallons...and who knows what's yet to happen here at the end. #maplesyrup #maple #maplesugaring

Parenting is like, okay here’s a floopy poop-cannon meatsack you gotta carry around for a couple years while it saps your sleep, sanity, and will to live. Also once it gets its legs beneath it it’s going to run away from you repeatedly while it death-wishes all over itself in the name of learning to person. Eventually it will text you every so often to let you know it’s still pooping.

Our daughter has with #dipg Brain cancer. There is no cure and typically 9m life expectancy.

A further from home favorite to ride my #bicycle is Wisconsin's Great River State Trail, 24 miles along the Mississippi on a Chicago Northwestern abandoned line from Marshland to LaCrosse. It's crushed limestone and includes the Trempeleau Nat'l Wildlife Refuge and Perrot State Park. It is the 1st of 4 connected trails, LaCrosse River, Elroy-Sparta and 400 State Trails. A WI state wheel pass is required. It is great for scenery and wildlife viewing.
