The Northern Lights just now from our window in Donegal, Ireland. Shot by my daughter.

Slow lately. Not horrible to get a break though. Bottled up what I boiled last week. Another 5.8 gallons. Just over 16 gallons bottled up this season. Still February. Looks like it's going to get nuts again.

Did some today with the club. Went 5 for 5 on flights. No long walks. No broken anything. Great day of flying.

Finished this little gut-punch of a book during lunch. The story hits home; having grown up on a farm where there were a lot of small farms (key word: were). sneezingcow.com/

So far, the Sullivan NWS is nailing the forecast. Left is 4am, forecast (actually. looked very similar last night) Right is1pm driving conditions. Red = ice-covered.

Really enjoying having to turn my music up louder to drown out the sound of ice hitting my office window.

Back at it again. Crazy runs over the last few days. I'm at 830 gallons of sap off my 95 taps. 1100 last year for the whole season and we have 5-6 weeks left.... Nuts.

Angel food cake is breakfast food, right?

How's your evening? Mine is great. Gonna be out here a while.

A few weeks back we got a new king bed. Didn't like any headboards anywhere. My wife liked the style of an ash sofa table I built recently, so I took the same approach building this headboard. Long top and bottom pieces are ash, the rest is red oak....all from our land. Did every step of the process from timber to finished piece. Stain is General Finishes Antique Cherry, matching all our other bedroom furniture.

When I built my reverse osmosis for processing sap, I got in the habit of writing the first run of each season on it. Yeah it's early...
